Sean Mendy is a Co-Founding Partner of Westbound Equity Partners, a Palo Alto-based investment firm backing exceptional talent, organizations, and ideas with financial and social capital. A Bay Area native, Sean has dedicated his career to closing opportunity gaps in Silicon Valley. Prior to Westbound, he was an executive at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula, a Venture Partner at Next Play Ventures, and an Entrepreneur in Residence at Sixth Street.

Sean works closely with entrepreneurs to achieve their goals and realize their vision. He is an early investor in Esusu, a leading fintech company helping renters build credit and access financial opportunities and Sierra, the conversational AI agent platform serving the enterprise. Sean’s broader portfolio includes The Browser Company, Notion, Syndio, LaborUp, Figma (FIG), and other category-defining companies. Sean is also an investor and Board Member of Bay FC, the Bay Area’s National Women’s Soccer League team.

Sean earned his BA from Cornell University, where he played soccer, and holds advanced degrees in business and policy from Stanford and USC.
