Our firm is inspired by generations of communities seeking opportunity and prosperity. Freedom and optimism. From the Great Migration in the 1900s where an estimated six million Black Americans migrated from the South to the North and the West to start anew to the Latino community’s sacrifices made in pursuit of better opportunities. From the California Gold Rush to Hollywood and Silicon Valley, to head “Westbound” is to have a vision of a better future matched with the courage to go out and build it.
We believe that technology is the “new West.” Our firm and our founders embrace this shared belief and commitment to reimagining the world around us and bringing entire communities along for the journey. Through strategic investments in early-stage stage technology companies led by pioneering founders, Westbound seeks to broaden opportunities in the ‘new West’ of technology while empowering underrepresented talent.
Building a virtuous cycle
When our founders succeed, they create a positive impact. We pledge 50% of our carry to the Westbound Community Foundation, which partners with nonprofit organizations closing opportunity gaps for underrepresented people of color.
